Sky Magazine - Gail Force BabeGORGEOUS Gail Porter has never tried to hide her naked ambition - so it may come as a bit of a shock to learn that she actually hates her body. After all, this is the telly teaser who stripped off for the lads' mags and even had her nude image projected on to the Houses of Parliament. "I think I've got an odd-looking body," confesses the 28-year-old Scot. "I don't like it at all. For a start, I can't bear my chest - it's too big for my body. When I exercise, my breasts have to be strapped down in a sports bra. I've got a big chest for a wee girl. I measure 32ins, but I wear a D cup. Also my thighs are too bulky," she says. "And when they flashed that pic of me on the House of Commons, it made my bum look really big. It was every woman's nightmare." So why does she continue to get 'em out for the lads? "I really like the pictures I've done," she tells the current issue of Sky Magazine. "I don't know why people get so worked up about a bare backside. I'm certainly not a daft little bimbo who gets all her clothes off for no reason whatsoever. I wouldn't say that I get a kick out of posing in the nude, it's just me playing a role. I don't think about the pictures as saucy - I think of them as being artistic and sexy. After all, I'm 28 for crying out loud. Why can't I do what I want to do? I'm just trying to entertain people and have a laugh. If people don't like it, they can turn over." Sadly for Gail, quite a few telly bosses seem to have be doing just that - she has been passed over for quite a few top jobs on the box. Rumours that she was up for Kelly Brook's Big Breakfast job, Zoe Ball's Live & Kicking slot and Samantha Janus' role in the comedy Babes In The Wood have all come to nothing. There was even talk of wee Gail meeting Hollywood executives and breaking into acting, but for now she's simply keeping busy with appearances on VH-1, Channel 5 and Virgin Radio. "It's possible that my stripping off has affected some job applications," she admits. "The publicity has been good because it's pushed up my profile, but I'm sure it has affected the jobs I have and haven't been offered. At least people know I'm not a kid any more." Since leaving the Sunday morning children's show Fully Booked several months ago, Gail has certainly grown up. But her series of Full Monty appearances has not only had an impact on her career. Believe it or not, it seems to have sunk her love life, too. "I've not had sex for two years," she says. "It's actually getting beyond a joke. I get asked out by strangers, but never by anyone I like. I'm looking for men who make me laugh - dates that are totally mad. Once this bloke came up to me from nowhere and said, 'Hi, have you got rid of that rash yet?' It just cracked me up." "I particularly like men's bottoms. And shoulders. Mind you, ears are good, too. In fact I like the whole lot. I think Richard Ashcroft, formerly of The Verve, has got a good look. Then again, I'd love to give Eddie Izzard a big cuddle. But I think, ultimately, I want a celebrity darts player." With taste like that, perhaps it's no wonder Gail has not yet found her idea fella. "I've got a selection of those kids' magnets stuck to my fridge door," she says. "They currently spell out, 'If you want it, come and find it'." Jocky Wilson and cross-dressing comics everywhere - you have been warned. |
