Daily Star - The Lowdown on Saucy Gail
Red-hot Scot Gail Porter is the fastest rising star on the box. She's hosting Fully Booked every Sunday morning on BBC2 and other telly offers are stacking up. The 27-year-old blonde, tipped as the next Denise Van Outen, gives Sandro "Mr Showbiz" Monetti the lowdown on nipple-piercing, Godzilla and fame...
You look so young. Does anyone ever mistake you for a 12-year-old?
Always. When I flew to New York the other week, I was really pleased that the stewardess didn't give me a jigsaw to do on the flight. I used to be a barmaid in Edinburgh and I sometimes had trouble getting into work, because whenever there was a new bouncer he'd think I was under 18.
Does it drive you nuts that you don't have a boyfriend?
It's pretty good, actually, because I do what I want. Like pick the films and TV shows I want to watch.
What would a man have to do to impress you?
Make me laugh. Eddie Izzard is the sexiest man alive because he's so funny. I love Bob Mortimer and Steve Coogan, too.
Have you any hot secret you'd like to get off your chest?
Yes. I've had a piercing done in a very special place. My right nipple! There I've admitted it. I hope people aren't too shocked. It's nothing really. It makes me feel very feminine.
Do you think Scotland manager Craig Brown should play the Christmas Tree formation in the World Cup?
The World what? Is that the football thing people are talking about? No idea.
What was your favourite school playground game?
One we played with the boys, "Kiss, cuddle and torture". I never got anywhere, because the boys wouldn't chase me.
Complete this sentence: I must give up...
Hoovering. I'm a total neat freak. It's just as well I live alone. If I was with a man who left his socks in the sink, that relationship would be over.
What's been your most glamorous job?
I went to New York the other week to report on the Godzilla premiere. The film wasn't my kind of thing, but the shops were fantastic!
Do any of your relatives have glamorous jobs, too?
My brother Keith has got a wonderful job helping people with learning difficulties. He's soon going to Tanzania to build huts. I'll miss him.
What do others tease you about?
My Scottish accent and my height or lack of it. I'm only a wee thing!
