Daily Star - Gail Porter Shares her saucy prezzy secrets

NOW December is finally here, the Christmas crowds will be out in force, and any sensible person will be culled up indoors ordering their prezzies off the Internet. Which is exactly what sexy TV presenter Gail Porter hopes any blokes who fancy a chance with her are doing.

"Oh God, men are so bad at buying sexy Christmas presents, aren't they?" groans the petite Top Of The Pops presenter. "The most embarrassing gift I ever had was a lacy suspender belt from my boyfriend in a whopping size 18! I was, and still am, a size six. It was a huge turn-off, rather than a turn-on and I didn't speak to him for two weeks afterwards. It was the least sexy Christmas I've ever had and was certainly the last one we spent together!"

Eight years on and Gail, 29, is more famous for NOT wearing underwear, whether it fits or not, with her bottom pictured on the Houses of Parliament and in many lads' mags. In fact, there can't be a man alive who isn't at least vaguely aware of the stunning Scot's vital statistics... although Gail's clearly still not convinced, which is why her name - and curves - are on the line to promote Internet portal Yahoo's Christmas shopping offerings.

"Ooh, I haven't posed nude that many times," she says impishly. "It's just that people have made such a big thing of it. I certainly don't regret it. And besides if it helps blokes buy me nice undies that actually fit then it can't be all bad? Have you any idea how bad it is for your morale getting lingerie that you could camp in? Christmas is the time when men buy sexy lingerie for the women in their life and the harsh fact is that for most of them it's a complete nightmare. They walk into a shop and instantly turn into an embarrassed lump. When they're confronted by an attractive sales assistant they get even worse. It's then they're at their weakest and get talked into buying any old rubbish, just to get out of them. It's heads down and a swift mumbled 'Whatever you say' to the shop girl."

Gails own pet hates are scratchy red and black lace which, she admits every man seems programmed at birth to lust after. "Women like to receive sexy underwear, but if you get the wrong size or the wrong style your life may as well be over and it's bound to put a dampener on the passion' she adds. "Even more embarrassing is when the woman frog-marches her boyfriend back into the shop to take back the item. Men are hopeless round the shops. They get bored too quickly."

Gail, who lives alone in London's trendy Soho, is honest enough to admit she'll probably leave most of her Christmas shopping to the last possible minute. But when it comes to buying for the man in her life - Dan Hipgrave from hit group Toploader - Gail's not above using a few sneaky tactics to make sure she gets it right. "Men should take a tip from me rummage through their partner's drawers." she says. "Get the knickers out and check the size. Then order the sexy stuff over the Internet."
